As much as we would like to think that fairy tale weddings just happen, they really do not. They only look that way because someone put a lot of time and care into creating a very special event. Our focus at TriniWeddings is on helping the bride and her family enjoy this special day and recommend attention be paid to these key business issues early in the planning process.
1. Make sure you read and understand any contract or agreement that is presented for your signature. Read the fine print. If you don't understand a phrase or a section, don't sign until it is fully explained and clarified for you.
2. Make sure that both parties sign and date the contract. If the person providing the service doesn't sign the contract, it isn't valid. In most cases, it won't matter because nothing will go wrong. But don't take the chance. Both parties must sign.
3. Be sure that the deposit and payment terms are clear. Ask if the vendor will accept credit card deposits and/or payments. Consumers are generally protected under special consumer protection laws which govern credit card purchases.
4. Clarify terms governing cancelations and refunds. You don't plan to cancel the wedding, but.......!
